Item overview

Advanced Intelligence can be well-defined as a machine’s capability to replicate intelligent human behavior, and that’s just what WORX engineers had in mind when they developed the WX178L Ai Drill. It’s almost in-built and so easy to use that first-time users and DIYers will breeze through home and craft projects.

It’s very powerful and the battery seems to last forever. The LED light is a nice touch, but what people love is the Block feature. It’s so incredibly fast and easy to change bits! This means it’s really easy to switch back and forth between drill bits and driver bits if necessary, and you’ll never find a problem with the bits being off-center or unsecured. Everything about this drill is almost satisfactory. The weight is fair enough; lightweight makes you feel unique. The trigger is solid, it is easy to feather it for slow starts and it doesn’t wobble.

the chuck-lock quite impressive. Most auto-chucks require you to hold the chuck while using the trigger to tighten or loosen. With this WX178L chuck you start the chuck lock by rotating the lock, blue ring just behind the chuck, about 15 degrees right or left and it automatically opens/closes the chuck. Like any good 20V Li-Ion battery it holds plenty of charges. When you finished about 40 wood screws, #8 or #10 x 2-1/2 or 3″, in pine or oak with no visible loss of power.

About the Batteries

What does it mean when the LED light flashes?

When the battery charge is getting low or the battery power is interrupted, the flashing LED light will indicate. There is built-in overload protection that will stop the tool if the battery is quickly put under too much strain. This feature protects the battery so it will last a long time. In rare cases, the Ai Drill will stop itself shortly if the job application drains power too quickly. Simply release the trigger to reset the driver.

The BitLock switch ring will not turn. What is the problem?

Perhaps the BitLock may get stuck between gears. In that case, simply put the drill in either forward or reverse and pull the trigger briefly. This should allow the BitLock to switch to work properly again.
